Cathays Methodist Community Choir are a diverse bunch: a mixture of ages, abilities and backgrounds. We cover a wide range of material from show tunes and pop to religious choral music and regularly perform for audiences far and wide.

CMCC aims to bring together all parts of the community and beyond through our music and performance. We aim to bridge gaps between cultures, religions and language through caring and lasting friendships. CMCC is a Christian based choir and extends a warm welcome to all and aims to be down to earth, community based and full of life.

The one thing we are not is boring!

You don’t have to be able to read music or sing like a professional, all you have to do is enjoy singing (and make something of a tuneful noise!) Everyone contributes and plays their part in a variety of different ways. The only two members of the group who are professional are the musical director and the accompanist, yet the performance given by the group is of a standard comparable with most professional choirs.

In 2004 CMCC managed to get short-listed for the Radio Three’s Choir of the Year competition and earned the title of Adult Choir of The Day, winning the regional round. CMCC has recently acquired support from The Principality Building Society and Positive Solutions.
